Laura Bush Announces Campaign for State Representative

VERNON – Town Council member Laura Bush announced her campaign for State Representative on March, 22 at Vernon Town Hall. She will challenge incumbent Democrat Mike Winker for the 56th House District. Laura and her family relocated to Vernon in 2000 and she is employed as an elementary school teacher in Andover in addition to serving as a member of the Vernon Town Council.

Laura announced, “I’ve been proud to call Vernon home since moving here with my family in 2000. We chose to live here because of all the community has to offer. I have been increasingly disappointed with how towns like Vernon have been treated by decision makers in Hartford. We need a representative who will fight for our community.”

In addition to serving on Town Council, Laura Bush previously served for six years on the Board of Education. The Republican nominating convention will take place on May 23rd for the November 6th General Election.
